Whether you’re a business rooted in North East Wales, or a supporter of our local tourism economy, joining the Clwydian Range Tourism Group (CRTG) connects you to a community of like-minded people and organisations who operate and care about promoting and supporting business growth in our local communities within our beautiful region. From accommodation providers and attractions, creatives, independent shops, farmers markets and amenities, CRTG brings people together to celebrate and enhance everything that makes the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape and its adjoining hotspots so special. We offer two ways to get involved: as a Member or as an Associate.
Our Strategy at a Glance
CRTG’s strategy is all about collaborative partnerships, regional promotion, business growth, community resilience and sustainability. We aim to increase awareness of the Clwydian Range & Dee Valley National Landscape as a high-quality visitor destination, support local businesses, and create promotional assets that reflect the character, beauty, and authenticity of our area. From targeted marketing to engaging the next generation through creative projects, everything we do is designed to boost footfall, support businesses, encourage wellbeing and accessibility for all, and ensure that tourism benefits the entire community.
Members
For businesses who meet the CRTG criteria outlined in our mission and strategy document.
Our Members form the heart of CRTG. Members are either located in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Natural Landscape Area, or they operate their activities predominantly in the area. These are the businesses that help deliver our shared vision for a thriving, sustainable, and welcoming visitor destination. As a Member, you’re directly involved in shaping projects and priorities that promote the region as a quality tourism destination. Membership includes:
● Accommodation providers, those with a 4* ratings/ with a strong desire to reach this
● Attractions – rooted in heritage, outdoor activity, or cultural value.
● Retail that caters to the visitor economy.
● Activity providers, guides, hand-crafting courses and experience-led tourism.
● Creative businesses engaged in local storytelling, arts, or education.
Members benefit from full participation in CRTG campaigns, monthly networking at members venues, eligibility to appear in CRTG’s 12-month dedicated publications and media projects, and inclusion in data-gathering, training, and grant opportunities.
Associates
For individuals or organisations who want to connect with CRTG and its Members in a supporting role for business growth and regional promotion.
Associates are a vital part of our wider network. If you’re passionate about the Clwydian Range, operate a complementary business, or simply want to stay connected and contribute where you can, becoming an Associate is the perfect fit. This includes:
● Suppliers or service providers that can support CRTG businesses operating in the visitor
economy.
● Educational establishments
● Residents who value the impact of tourism and want to support local initiatives.
● Freelancers, creatives, and larger organisations with an interest in tourism.
Associates receive updates, networking opportunities, and the chance to be involved in selected CRTG initiatives. Associates are warmly welcomed into the CRTG community and can contribute greatly to the overall group and Members business needs.
