The History of the Clwydian Range Tourism Group

We stand for Connecting Rurual Businesses, Preserving Nature and Thriving Together!

We were founded two decades ago by passionate group of volunteers all with tourism businesses based in rural locations in the Clwydian Range area.

They were pioneers for their time and a beacon of support for tourism businesses when the Foot and Mouth disease hit the area hard and threatened the livelihood of farms and tourism businesses. Not wanting to watch and see what would unfold in the wake of Foot and Mouth controversy they formed a group and together promoted their area, made waves with economic sustainability, and embraced the landscape of the stunning Clwydian Range which spanned Flintshire and Denbighshire.  They gathered peers to join their cause in preserving tourism and providing connectivity to rural businesses and our values to this day have not changed.

Diverse Businesses, Shared Passion: A Snapshot of Our Tourism Community

Our area is full of small, family-run tourism businesses, driven by a love for their surroundings with sights firmly fixed on the future challenges,  such as cost of living, legislation, and local authority choices. Together we present as one voice in order to help steer decisions, be included in legislation making and to make our existence count.

For our members we facilitate a crucial network, face to face and through technology and foster community support.  The CRTG provides a vital space for networking, mutual support, and joint advocacy.

Why CRTG Matters: A Network Beyond Technology

Is there still a place for physical businesses meeting face to face? Absolutely! In a world of online information, CRTG remains a haven where businesses connect, share insights, and rally for common causes. It’s a space where local businesses uplift each other, celebrate successes, and proudly promote the entire region.

Joining CRTG means you will be part of a kind, friendly network and a thriving community where shared values, support, and a love for the region keeps our community interested and together.
